This Riddell Custom Camo Mini Helmet was signed by the Lion King Detroit Lions Hall of Fame Running Back Barry Sanders. Anders played is collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma State. In his junior year there, Sanders would have one of the greatest individual seasons ever. Sanders rushed for 2,850 yards and 43 touchdowns in only 12 games. He would go on to win the Heisman Trophy that year. Next year he would be drafted by the Lions and would go on to win NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Sanders played for the Lions for ten years and was considered the most elusive running back ever. Sanders would earn Pro-Bowl honors in each season. Sanders rushed for 1500 yards in each of his seasons, eclipsing the 2000 yard rushing mark in one of those season. Sanders was voted the League MVP that year. Shockingly, while still performing at a high level Sanders would retire before the start of the 1999 season. He retired just 1457 shy of the all time rushing record at that time held by Walton Payton.
